  • Open Google on the Internet and select images.
  • In the image search box write movie posters.
  • Look at the options that come up on the screen, select a movie poster and look at the types of information that can be found on a movie poster.
  • Make a to do list on your microsoft word document of the information that will be needed for your individual poster.
  • Samples of information can be viewed on the Avatar Movie Poster below
  • Tips – Movie title, director name, leading actors names, image, a catch line for your poster, Cinema release date, production information.
  • The Movie poster is to be made up it is not to be a copy of a real film, it is also required for your poster to be in English.

The Class Task
Students are to develop a movie poster based on their own idea for a film; they are required to place the information that has been previously researched onto their posters. This is a individual task and the students have until Friday to complete it.

How To Do It
Students can use pictures from the internet, clip art or take their own photos and decorate it in Photoshop to use for the poster, click on the link below for a step by step guide to setting up the document in Publisher.

Student Note

  • Save the movie poster to your network folder.
  • If taking your own photos, you will need to get the images from the camera to the computer – use a memory card reader ( in the basket on the MM lab desk ) or insert the memory card from the camera into the cpu of the computer.
  • This class task will cover Wednesday and Friday class/
  • Movie Poster must be completed by the end of Friday’s class.
  • All researched information must be provided on the poster – Title, Teaser line for your movie, director name, movie release date, image matching your movie choice, lead actors names, and small production information to be at the bottom of the poster.
  • Remember this is your own film so the information can be made up.
