T Shirt Assignment

Due: 22nd November 2010

Objective: Create an original T shirt design from the prior learning – Illustrator Teaching Tools, the t shirt design will be printed out and yours to keep.

What to Include:

  • T Shirt design must be created on an A4 scale
  • The software used for designing must be Illustrator
  • Pre-Design notes and drawings must be submitted to demonstrate your design process.
  • A Write-up outlining your design concept and inspiration, what research you performed to assist you in creating ideas, with images of the designs that influenced you. A target market – who is going to wear you T shirt (age bracket)
  • Files are to be saved in your network folder in a new folder created by you labeled, T Shirt Design Assignment.
  • All design notes and write-ups are to be uploaded to your blog with an email sent to me with the link; also a hardcopy is to be handed in on the due date.
  • The hardcopy is to be placed in a plastic folder, stapled together and the text is to be typed, your work is to be presented in a professional manner.

Please Read: Do not use images from the internet in your designs, this will result in a fail, you can use them as an inspiration or a thread to build your creative idea upon, but this must be submitted in your design folder notes.

Students have learnt the tools they need to trace an image shape if they require it.

Marking Criteria

  • 20 Marks – Overall Design Concept, layout and color
  • 10 Marks – Write – up and design process information submitted online and as a hardcopy.
  • 10 Marks – Presentation of written work – Your Process must be demonstrated clearly, with images from your research your own drawings, and influences. This information must be submitted creatively.
