Podcasting Assignment

Assignment details

  • Each group will be involved in making their own podcast
  • Each podcast is to be 5-7 minutes in length
  • You are to use voice, music, sound effects etc to make the podcast interesting
  • The podcast must be put online and available via subscription
  • Each group member must be involved and have a speaking part in the podcast
  • A written plan of the podcast must be submitted by the group
  • An individual report covering the following details also must be submitted, create a heading for each of the questions with your response underneath, you can research your answers using the many podcasting reference sites on the internet: the report must be written in your own words and laid out using Microsoft word.

Here are the details for what your report must address

  1. Define what podcasting is in terms of developments, concepts and trends
  2. What are the various forms of podcasting? (e.g. vodcasting)
  3. Who is podcasting?
  4. Give current examples of best-practice use of podcasting in education, business, news etc
  5. Why are people podcasting?
  6. Hardware and software for creating a podcast
  7. Advantages and disadvantages of podcasting

    Marking Criteria for Assignment

    Podcast: 15 Marks
    Uploaded to the web / RSS Feed: 10 Marks
    Written Plan: 10 Marks
    Written Report: 15 Marks

The Group Podcast must have a written plan submitted by the group if the plan is not submitted the podcast will not be accepted.

Each individual member must supply a written report addressing the key areas above on the due date if this is not submitted; your group’s podcast will not be accepted.

How to convert to an MP3 and uploaded to a web space as a RSS Feed will be addressed in class.

You will be adding your podcast, plan and individual reports to the ISE Blog space that you have set up.
